Tahoe Quilts Fabric Art by Karen Colbert
Karen created her first piece of fabric art in 1999. Since then, she has been voted "Best Local Artists" twice at the North Shore of Lake Tahoe and expanded her gallery to include artwork of other local artists.
When you view Karen's work, you will be amazed at what you see. At first, her pieces look like paintings. Stepping closer, you see the small squares of fabric she uses to create a magnificent landscape or abstract color transitional pieces. Her work truly captures the essence of art. It forces the viewer to want to get a closer look, then step back to see the beauty of the whole piece. The vibrancy of her colors makes you stop to look, whether you like fabric or not.
